Job Overview:

The IT Applications Architect will play a key role in supporting the Ingersoll Rand Enterprise PLM deployment program and associated projects. The primary objective of the Enterprise PLM initiative is to implement PTC Windchill globally leveraging advanced technologies and tools to enable profitable growth at rates exceeding market performance across the organization.

This role will provide strategic vision and direction for technologies supporting Engineering Manufacturing Supply Management and other business functions. The architect will lead definition development and implementation of best practices for deploying and maintaining various modules of PTC Windchill along with complementary engineering applications such as ArborText and IsoDraw. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Enterprise PLM champions in each Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and IT delivery teams to deliver sustainable high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategy and vision for solution design configuration development standards and best practices for Windchill technology.
  • Monitor track and review solution delivery to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business functions and IT teams on definition planning modeling governance and implementation of PLM capabilities.
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders for Windchill implementation projects.
  • Drive endtoend technical solutions by actively participating in handson system implementation writing highquality code conducting code reviews and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to ensure scalable reliable and maintainable software delivery
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor development teams on application development and integrations with upstream (CAD) and downstream (ERP) systems.
  • Proactively communicate risks and ensure integrity with key stakeholders.
  • Drive ownership and accountability to resolve systemic gaps to completion.
  • Lead initiatives to minimize support costs and accelerate delivery of value-added functionality.
  • Work proactively to eliminate technical debt and address security vulnerabilities.
  • Assess new tools and software perform proof-of-concepts (POCs) and recommend optimizations for the enterprise PLM landscape.
  • Design scalable reusable and robust solution frameworks.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership by guiding teams through critical and complex technical challenges

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of Windchill system architecture and hands-on implementation experience.
  • Strong functional knowledge of PLM domain related to Engineering Manufacturing Procurement and Aftermarket Service.
  • Solid knowledge of industrial manufacturing development business processes.
  • Familiarity with PTC PLM product roadmap and future capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business problems into technical requirements and implementation scope.
  • Experience redesigning existing systems to improve operational and business efficiency.
  • Proven experience across all phases of solution delivery methodology.
  • Ability to lead technical review sessions for critical projects
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise matrix organizations with front/back-office operations
  • Ability to map business functionality to out-of-the-box features and identify customization needs
  • Experience with CAD data management in Windchill and integration with CAD tools such as Creo SolidWorks AutoCAD.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve complex technical issues.

Education

  • B.E. in Computer Science or related technical field.

Experience:

  • 810 years in global software development and deployment.
  • 56 years of Windchill implementation/customization experience

Other Requirements:

  • Strong creativity and critical thinking skills applied through technical and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate solution ideas clearly.
  • Excellent collaboration verbal and written communication skills.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

  • Position will be a hybrid model based out of Chennai or Bangalore with minimal anticipated travel
