This role leads the site Maintenance and Reliability function driving asset performance operational uptime and cost optimization. The incumbent will oversee multidisciplinary maintenance teams and implement world-class reliability practices to ensure safe efficient and sustainable plant operations.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Functional Oversight
- Provide line management to Mechanical Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and Warehouse teams.
- Lead coach and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance and reliability organization.
- Manage in-house contractors and evaluate performance against service agreements.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Production Engineering Procurement Finance and other stakeholders.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution
- Develop implement and optimize Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
- Strengthen planning and scheduling processes to improve work quality prioritization and resource utilization.
- Ensure full compliance with safety standards and procedures (PTW Risk Assessments MOC etc.).
- Manage plant turnaround events and major shutdown activities.
Reliability & Performance Management
- Own and drive key reliability KPIs including:
- MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
- MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
- OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Unplanned downtime reduction metrics
- PM compliance rates
- Analyze equipment and maintenance data to identify chronic failures performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective and preventive solutions.
- Eliminate recurring failures through engineered solutions asset redesign and optimized maintenance strategies.
Continuous Improvement & Asset Optimization
- Apply best-in-class reliability methodologies (RCM FMEA TPM precision maintenance).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Six Sigma TPM and 5S.
- Develop long-term asset care strategies and capital replacement plans.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analysis to guide repair vs. replace decisions.
- Optimize spare parts strategy to ensure availability of critical components while managing inventory costs.
- Collaborate on equipment upgrades debottlenecking and CAPEX initiatives.
Governance Reporting & Budget Management
- Develop and oversee maintenance budgets and investment plans.
- Publish monthly Maintenance & Reliability performance reports with actionable insights.
- Present reliability performance and strategic recommendations to plant and executive leadership.
- Undertake special assignments as directed by the Manufacturing Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Electrical Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- 7–10 years of maintenance or reliability experience within a manufacturing environment (process industry exposure preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Hands-on experience managing plant turnaround/shutdown events.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems (e.g. SAP PM Maximo Infor).
- Proficiency in reliability methodologies such as RCA FMEA RCM TPM.
- Solid understanding of maintenance work processes and project execution frameworks.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management negotiation and communication skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
