Job Summary

We are seeking a Trade Finance Coordinator to join our Brisbane based Finance team working in close partnership with our Singapore based Marketing team.  Reporting to the Manager Sales Operations you will play a pivotal role in managing the endtoend transactional activities that ensure our export sales are executed accurately efficiently and securely.

In this role you will oversee all trade finance processes commercial invoicing shipping documentation and associated risk management while also managing cashflow aged debtors and monthend reporting requirements for the business and Joint Venture partners.  

Positioned at the heart of our commercial operations this role is critical to ensuring strong cashflow reducing risk exposure and delivering a smooth and reliable customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage all documentation required for coal shipments including Bills of Loading and shipping documents
  • Ensure all origination and export documentation meets contractual and compliance requirements
  • Calculate pricing accurately in line with contract terms and prepare commercial invoicing including quality related penalties or adjustments
  • Implement appropriate trade finance instruments to mitigate risk including Letters of Credit Bills of Exchange and / or structured finance solutions
  • Monitor accounts receivable follow up overdue payments and minimise debtor days
  • Prepare accurate reporting including JV sales working capital and forecast reporting pre-shipment coal quality testing reports and aged debtor reports
  • Work closely with internal Sales Group Credit Risk and Treasury departments and external banks trade finance partners and coal sales customers
  • Serve as a key point of contact for trade finance queries and documentation

Qualifications :

This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a finance coal sales and / or trading background within the coal mining industry.  You will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers and data
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to interpret and apply commercial contracts and conditions
  • Basic understanding of commodity trading (metallurgical coal) trading and sales terminology practice and process
  • Understanding of trade finance tools and risk mitigation
  • Understanding of Corporate Structure Joint Venture and mine operations
