About the Role

Were looking for a Trade Operations Analyst to join our Sydney-based Trading Operations team. This role sits at the centre of trading activity ensuring the business starts each day with clean positions and accurate P&L while providing real-time operational support to traders.

Youll take ownership of middle office operations across exchange-traded equities and related listed products alongside core product control responsibilities. This role requires someone with direct experience supporting equities trading desks who is comfortable operating close to the front office in a fast-paced environment.

Over time youll also absorb new responsibilities as systems and processes evolve internally. This is a hands-on high-impact role with real ownership.

Your Mission at Life Trading

Product Control:

• Ensure daily position reconciliation is complete prior to trading
• Validate daily P&L and investigate discrepancies with clear timely commentary
• Maintain and own product control data including the Product Control system
• Manage position transfers as required
• Develop and document product control processes and procedures

Financial Controls:

• Take ownership of cash reconciliations
• Assume responsibility for P&L sign-off once processes are established
• Manage trading-related cash movements and operational payments
• Support the evolution of internal financial control frameworks

Middle Office Operations (Equities):

• Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle workflows across exchange-traded equities including settlements lifecycle events and position maintenance
• Work closely with traders and Finance to ensure seamless execution and accurate downstream reporting
• Maintain and manage external trading and post-trade platforms
• Develop and document operational processes supporting equities trading

Live Trading Support:

• Provide real-time support to traders during market hours
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively
• Manage Trading setup and configuration
• Support onboarding of new strategies markets and products
• Prepare trading updates for board and company reporting

What Were Looking For

• 5 years experience working in or closely with trading teams (prop quant or clearing firms)
• Direct experience supporting equities trading desks (essential)
• Cash reconciliation experience with an understanding of trade settlement and cash movement
• Strong understanding of product control (or otherwise relevant function) and trading operations
• Proven experience in a middle office or trade support role covering listed products
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
• High attention to detail and ownership mindset
