Victoria University (VU) Sydneys partnership with the Education Centre of Australia (ECA) dating back more than a decade offers internationally recognised and industry relevant courses to international and domestic students. We offer range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in business information systems and early childhood education.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Student Fee Officer to join our team at VU Sydney/Brisbane. This role will be based in our Sydney Campus office. Key Responsibilities:

The role supports the implementation of student fee processes and provides additional support across student administration processes and other related services for Victoria University Sydney and Brisbane.

Key duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Planning and implementing student financial and administration services for Victoria University Sydney and Brisbane students comprising but is not limited to fee invoicing and collection payment plans refunds fee remissions aged invoice analysis fee reporting student fee system configuration compliance and quality assurance communication stakeholder engagement customer service and other related student administration functions.
  • Processing student fee requests for VU Sydney and Brisbane within prescribed timeframes set by regulatory frameworks Victoria University policies and organisational service delivery standards.
  • Planning and delivering student fee training programmes to ensure VU Sydney and Brisbane staff understand student administration processes under the ESOS Act 2000 and National Code 2018.
  • Preparing and presenting periodic student fee reports for Student Administration.
  • Identifying and implementing automation solutions to streamline student fee functions for VU Sydney and Brisbane.
  • Maintaining accurate student fee records across VU Student System Campus Systems and PRISMS.
  • Providing excellent customer service through prompt resolution of telephone email and face-to-face inquiries including assisting with student administration applications.
  • Engaging directly with students to resolve administration issues promptly.
  • Supporting student fee and student administration projects.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in student fee and student administration services.
  • Undertaking other duties as required.

Key Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field

Knowledge & Skills

  • A relevant degree plus student fee-related experience in the education sector.
  • Sound knowledge of the international student lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of the ESOS Act and National Code and their application to student administration processes.
  • Strong communication customer service and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse students and staff.
  • Well-developed organisational time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Proficient ICT skills including the Microsoft Office suite with the ability to quickly learn and use university and student management systems.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience of at least 1 year in a similar role with international student services/administration team in education sector.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with student management databases and electronic systems.

  • This is an on-campus role 5 days a week (employees who have passed their probation period are eligible to work one day from home).
