Lyceum College invites applications from experienced and academically rigorous individuals to serve as Content Reviewers for study materials developed for the Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching.
This role is critical to ensuring that all learning materials meet the Colleges internal quality standards are aligned with the Higher Education Qualifications Sub Framework and reflect sound pedagogical practice appropriate for a distance learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be required to:
Conduct comprehensive academic and quality assurance reviews of full study guides including:
o Alignment of content to module outcomes and qualification purpose
o Conceptual accuracy depth and academic coherence
o Pedagogical soundness and appropriateness for Foundation Phase teaching
o Integration of South African educational policy and context
Evaluate and provide detailed feedback on:
o Learning activities and self-assessments including suggested responses
o Assessment preparation material and student guidance
o Structure sequencing and logical flow of content
Ensure materials are:
o Suitable for distance learning delivery
o Accessible clear and appropriately scaffolded for undergraduate students
o Free from grammatical typographical and referencing errors
Verify:
o Compliance with institutional templates and formatting standards
o Use of appropriate referencing conventions (preferably Harvard)
o Academic integrity and originality of content
Provide structured written review reports with clear recommendations for revision
Engage with academic teams instructional designers and quality assurance personnel to support improvement of materials
Adhere to strict timelines and maintain consistency across multiple reviews
Requirements
Required Competencies
Applicants must demonstrate:
Strong academic writing and editorial skills
Ability to critically evaluate academic content at undergraduate level
Sound understanding of outcomes based education and curriculum alignment
Familiarity with distance and online learning principles
High attention to detail particularly in language structure and referencing
Ability to provide constructive developmental feedback
Minimum Requirements
A relevant Masters degree in Education or a cognate field
At least 2 years experience in teaching curriculum development moderation or academic quality assurance in higher education
Demonstrable experience in reviewing or developing academic materials
Working knowledge of the HEQSF and CHE programme accreditation requirements
Ability to meet deadlines and engage with iterative review processes
Access to a computer and reliable internet connectivity
Added Advantage
Doctorate in Education or working towards one
Experience in distance education institutions
Knowledge of South African school curriculum policy (e.g. CAPS NCS etc.)
Previous work with private higher education institutions
