Job Context & Major Challenges

UltraTech Cement is the largest cement manufacturer in India with an installed capacity of about 89 million tonnes. The company has production facilities in 38 locations spread across the country and has plans to grow further than acquisition and green field expansion. The UltraTech brand occupies a premium position with a market capitalization of Rs. 120000 crores. The Indian cement industry has a capacity of 432 million tonnes and a supply demand gap putting pressure of prices due to excess capacity. The market has strong regional players in each Zone and has strong brand competition.

The role of Finance & Commercial includes managing Accounting Finance & Commercial activities for the business. The function plays an important Role in the business and undertakes the responsibility of MIS business performance analysis exercising of internal controls Legality & Tax Compliance in all transactions and cost management Credit Management and Risk management. The function also carries the responsibility of designing and implementing business processes / SOPs and for other allied activities like P&B Capex management taxation auditing credit controlVendor Appointment and facilitating day to day operations of Marketing.

KRA1Agreements & Contracts Management (R) Renewal of agreements or contracts before expiry at Region
KRA2Equipment Hiring / Procurement (R) Evaluate the performance of vendors (RM TM Pumps Primary/Secondary logistics etc.) periodically in line with business goals
(R) Identify negotiate and finalize long term contracts with key suppliers of aggregates
(R) Identify recommend vendors and deployment of TMs and pumps with optimum fixed cost and mileage.
(R) Maintain and ensure proper and updated stores and spares at plant level so that production disruptions are avoided
(R) Timely procurements maintaining appropriate balance of cost and quality
(RA) Ensure uninterrupted production of RMC through timely procurement of aggregates sand fly ash cement GGBS admixers at most economical price & by addressing all the contingency situations / logistics challenges
(RA) Explore new sources of raw materials and procure quality raw materials cost-effectively as per standard specifications
(RA) Monitor and control the plant inventory regularly
KRA3Finalisation of Financial Statements (RA) Optimising inventory level payables for RMC/BPD Business
KRA4Internal controls & System Review (R) Adherence to SOP compliances in all negotiations for procurement of white goods gifts foreign tours gifts for Marketing / Technical services CRM expenses godown rent / office rent capex expansion etc.
KRA5Market Intelligence (R) Exploring new resources / locations and benchmarking best Procurement practices in the industry leading to cost reduction and achieving the competitive edge in the market
KRA6Vendor Management (A) Preparing & issuing purchase orders/ in line with the terms negotiated and companys standard terms at Region
(R) Agreements for long term tie-ups dedicated procurements Fixed rate contract AMCs Bulk Purchase new product additions
(R) Dispute Resolutions of all vendors to safeguard the financial and non-financial implications at Region
(RA) Organize annual meet for aggregates vendors to update on best industry practices any statutory updates or related training / awareness sessions
