Job Summary
Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll maintaining employee personnel records and conducting payroll reporting and auditing duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate payroll processes with payroll system for both hourly and salaried employees
- Process new hires terminations garnishments deductions withholdings as necessary
- Audit user data entry for completeness
- Ensure time records are complete and processed for each payroll process and oversee reconciliation to GL
- Works with HR team to train new employees to HR/Payroll systems
- Reconcile outstanding list of payroll checks
- Maintain list of uncashed checks and submit unclaimed wages as required by state
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software; prior experience with Paycom a plus
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Five years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least two years of experience in payroll
- Fluent in Spanish plus
Travel Requirements
- Some travel may be required as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
