Committed to preventing needless deaths and improving healthcare systems Jhpiego partners with governments civil society and communities to drive evidence-based interventions. Through Gavi funding Jhpiego is providing technical assistance for the rollout of the HPV vaccine in Pakistan supporting national and provincial stakeholders in ensuring effective implementation.
Jhpiego seeks a Research and Learning Lead HPV Program to support the programs research evidence generation and learning initiatives. The RL Lead will design and oversee national studies synthesize lessons from program implementation and translate findings into actionable guidance for policymakers implementers and global stakeholders. This role will be central to strengthening evidence-based decision-making informing program strategies and institutionalizing learning from Pakistans phased HPV vaccine introduction.
Responsibilities
Research and Learning:
- Lead the assessment of communities knowledge attitudes and Practices (KAP) regarding HPV and cervical cancer.
- Document and analyze multi-sectoral stakeholder engagement learnings to inform policy and program strategies.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing activities at national and international levels ensuring the dissemination of best practices.
- Support operational research initiatives to generate new insights on HPV vaccine introduction and immunization strategies.
Learning Translation:
- Apply Learning Translation Framework to synthesize evidence from Phase 1 implementation.
- Develop national learning briefs operational guidance and evidence summaries for stakeholders.
- Document best practices from provincial rollout and create actionable insights.
- Support HAPPI Consortium and Jhpiego in webinars regional symposia and publications.
- Translate Pakistans experience for global learning and policy influence.
Support in Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support in the development of advocacy materials to support policy discussions and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with government agencies development partners and civil society organizations to strengthen program learning and implementation.
- Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders including government officials donors and technical working groups.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports policy briefs and publications.
Support SBCC & Program Teams:
- Provide evidence-based insights for demand generation teacher and CSO training manuals and communication strategies.
- Ensure research findings inform the revision and approval of training/orientation manuals.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Use RI data school-based reports and KAP data to inform learning outputs (not routine monitoring).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in public health Epidemiology Biostatistics or a related field. Masters degree will be preferred.
- 7-8 years of experience in monitoring evaluation research and learning within public health programs.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks particularly in immunization or vaccine introduction programs.
- Prior experience working with government health programs particularly with FDI EPI or national-level immunization initiatives.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills including proficiency in data collection management and analysis.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau STATA SPSS).
- Excellent writing presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Strong coordination networking and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu.
- Willingness to travel within Pakistan as required (30-50% of the time).
