Recycling and Waste Improvement Coordinator

6-10 hours per week during the Spring term
Job Description
Serve as the primary point person for projects related to waste and recycling improvement for the office of Sustainability. This person will work with the Facility Services recycling Team University communications and marketing and waste management classes working on process and project improvement on campus and in the community. This person will also work with County and city based departments as well as relevant local nonprofits to maintain up to date messaging and practices for campus. Work with Office of Sustainability student staff and the Sustainability Director to support other office programs as needed.
Required Qualifications
Have an understanding of current waste practices and systems on campus
Be comfortable contributing to waste audits and working in and with compost.

Competent in Word and/or graphics software
Demonstrate organizational and time-management skills
Demonstrate oral and written communication skills
General knowledge of promotional tactics and public relations
Able to work independently on assigned tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Education
Maintain good academic standing and enrollment of at least 12 (or more) undergraduate credits with UWSP
In good academic standing with the University (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.5)
