Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Skills USA Advisor for the school year. This is a stipend position with responsibilities and compensation detailed below.
Major Responsibilities:- Recruits students to participate in Skills USA and on the leadership team.
- Coordinates trips for Skills USA (including but not limited to Districts Nationals States Leadership Conferences).
- Manage SkillsUSA Student Activity Funds as well as District funded accounts.
- Registers staff to become professional members.
- Fundraise to off-site the cost of trips and participation needs.
- Register students as members and complete Total Participation Program Application for Minuteman.
- Advise bi-monthly Leadership Team meetings.
- Mentor SkillsUSA Leadership team as well as contest and conference participants.
- Support students and staff in their participation of SkillsUSA competitions and conferences.
- Manage all logistics related to SkillsUSA participation.
- Chaperone all in person (and virtual) SkillsUSA events in which students participate.
- Communicate Minutemans participation in SkillsUSA related activities within the school community (announcements press releases website).
- Coordinate SkillsUSA Leadership teams participation in Minutemans recruitment events such as Showcase Day Open House Etc.
- Assists in the set up and execution of Skills USA qualifying assessments.
- Complete an approved Program of Work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced in developing and providing training opportunities for students staff and families.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing in person through email and on the telephone.
- Career counseling experience preferred.
- Ability to coordinate trips conferences and networking events.
Additional Requirements:- This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public walking around the school standing for periods occasionally lifting and carrying items reading documents using a computer listening and speaking using office equipment maintaining energy throughout the day and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment:Effective Dates of Employment:- This is a stipend position for the 2026-2027 school year (July 1 2026 June 30 2027).
Supervisor:- Director of Career and Technical Education.
Compensation:- The stipend for this position is $12986.
