Supervises: Direct Reports and Support Staff
Primary Purpose: Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all districtwide student and school support systems to ensure access to services high-quality programming and improved student outcomes. Lead the development implementation and continuous improvement of systems that support student success compliance campus effectiveness and alignment to the Superintendents vision and the districts strategic goals. Serve as a key member of the Superintendents Cabinet to ensure cross-functional collaboration data-driven decision-making and coherent service delivery across the district.

Masters Degree (required)
Principal Certification (required)
Superintendent Certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge Skills:
Deep knowledge of federal state and local laws governing student services special populations and public education
Ability to evaluate programs personnel and organizational systems
Strong financial oversight and budget management skills
Expertise in systems thinking strategic planning and continuous improvement
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Exceptional communication interpersonal and public relations skills
Demonstrated conflict resolution and consensus-building ability
High-level leadership team development and organizational management skills
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom experience
Minimum of five (5) years in instructional or district-level leadership roles

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
I. Executive Leadership and Strategic Direction
Provide executive oversight for the Student & School Support Division ensuring coherence effectiveness and alignment with district strategic priorities.
Lead strategic planning efforts for all departments within the division.
Establish measurable performance standards aligned with district goals.
Use data and needs assessments to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate division initiatives with other Cabinet-level leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment.
Guide services supporting special populations and ensure smooth feeder-pattern transitions.
Participate in district-level goal setting and performance monitoring.
II. Division Oversight and Program Management
Provide direct leadership and supervision for the following departments and programs:
Guidance & Counseling
Nursing & Health Services
Special Education
Section 504 & Dyslexia Services
Teen Parent Related Services
Choice Schools
Office of Admissions Transfers and Affidavits
Community Outreach Center
Employee Childcare Center
SB 1882 In-District Charter Partnerships
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring program quality effectiveness and compliance
Aligning services across campuses for consistency and equity
Developing and maintaining clear operating procedures
Conducting systematic program reviews and evaluations
Leading implementation of research-based best practices
III. Policy Compliance and Governance
Ensure full compliance with federal state and local laws and Board policies related to assigned departments
Oversee required compliance documentation and monitoring systems.
Prepare and present required reports to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees.
Attend Board meetings as required and provide subject-matter expertise.
Maintain proactive awareness of legislative changes impacting student services
IV. Budget and Resource Management
Develop and administer division budgets.
Ensure cost-effectiveness and responsible stewardship of district resources.
Prepare budget proposals aligned with strategic priorities.
Monitor expenditures and ensure fiscal compliance.
Allocate personnel and material resources to maximize program effectiveness.
V. Personnel Leadership and Talent Development
Supervise and evaluate executive directors and assigned staff.
Recruit select assign and retain highly qualified personnel.
Develop leadership capacity within the division.
Provide coaching and performance feedback.
Ensure job descriptions remain current and aligned with organizational needs.
Make recommendations regarding personnel actions in accordance with district policy.
VI. Communication and Community Engagement
Promote and provide strong two-way communication with administrators staff families and community partners.
Ensure transparent admissions and transfer processes.
Represent the division in public forums and community settings.
Demonstrate responsiveness to district and community needs.
Secure external consultants specialists and partnerships when appropriate.
Resolve conflicts effectively and professionally.
VII. Superintendent and Cabinet Collaboration
Serve as a trusted leader on Superintendent Cabinet.
Provide regular updates regarding division initiatives risks and emerging needs.
Collaborate with Cabinet members to ensure alignment across instructional and operational systems.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise and evaluate the performance of executive directors and assigned support staff within the Student & School Support Division
Working Conditions:
