Position summary
The IT Infrastructure & Operations Specialist within Global IT Operations is a key contributor to the design implementation and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure and systems across all Xellia sites. The primary responsibility lies within technologies such as VMware Hyper-V Cisco UCS/HCI and IBM storage.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain core IT infrastructure including:
- VMware & Hyper-V Administration
- Converged and Hyper Converged Storage Infrastructure administration
- Storage technologies like IBM Cloudian Qnap and NetApp Ontap
- Windows Server Administration
- Active Directory Administration
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- Server Patch Management
- Folder Management
- General data center support
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis and propose permanent fixes for recurring service issues.
- Identify and manage operational risks to ensure service continuity and resilience.
- Participate in Change Control Board meetings reviewing and approving changes to owned services.
- Ensure performance meets or exceeds OLA requirements driving continuous improvement in system reliability and uptime.
- Ensure the understanding of IT business needs and be able to translate business needs into IT technical solutions.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support to users ensure support queries are logged in ITSM.
- Participate in analyzing user and functional requirements provide technical analysis and assessments of systems and provide input for related technical design specifications.
- Keep up to date with the latest technology within expertise field.
- Maintain updated records for systems processes and compliance in line with regulatory standards.
- Active participation in major IT projects according to project plans project reporting and other activities orchestrated by the Project Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience working as an IT Infrastructure or Operations professional with a demonstrable track record in a senior role.
- Proven expertise in managing and optimizing complex IT environments including:
- Virtualization (VMware Hyper-V)
- Windows Servers
- Converge and Hyper Converge Infrastructure (ex. Cisco IBM Cloudian Qnap NetApp Ontap)
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
- Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP) or relevant certifications are preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration
- Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical industry compliance SOP creation and other regulatory documentation.
Technical Skills
- Core IT Skills: IT Infrastructure Management VMware Hyper-V Windows Servers Storage Management and PowerShell Scripting.
- Management & Operations: IT Operations Datacenter Management IT Service Management Vendor Management and Project Management.
- Frameworks & Methodologies: ITIL (strong knowledge).
