JOB SUMMARY:
The UPE Analytics & Information Systems Intern supports Universal Products & Experiences by gaining hands-on experience with enterprise data platforms analytics tools and business intelligence systems used across Merchandising Finance and Retail Operations. The intern will assist with foundational data preparation visualization analysis and internal team process documentation and improvement initiatives while learning how large-scale data systems reporting platforms and governance practices enable strategic decision-making.
This role is designed to develop future merchandise analytics professionals by combining product development and retail processes with foundational industrial engineering skillsets modern data analytics automation and enterprise reporting technologies.
Develop practical experience applying analytics data and project management techniques to real business problems.
Learn how enterprise data systems and cloud platforms support analytics at scale.
Build skills in data visualization KPI development and dashboarding.
Understand data governance systems integration and data quality concepts.
Strengthen business communication and storytelling through analytical visualizations and presentations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support data validation and analysis efforts for product development retail operations and financial initiatives.
- Assist in building and maintaining dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI Excel and SQL.
- Participate in process documentation and improvement projects applying industrial engineering concepts such as process flow analysis.
- Help define document and track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned to business objectives (e.g. sales cost efficiency inventory throughput).
- Support analytics projects involving enterprise systems and data platforms including exposure to cloud-based data environments and reporting tools.
- Assist with data quality checks reconciliation and basic data governance documentation.
- Contribute to presentations business cases and executive-ready materials that translate data into actionable insights.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of reports and analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Analytics Finance Technology and Operations.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited university.
- Enrollment in Industrial Engineering Finance Accounting Business Analytics Information Systems or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work full-time on-site (internship/co-op requirements apply).
