The USF Development Office builds relationships generates interest and inspires confidence among the universitys constituents to attract private funding. Private gifts are used to advance teaching research creative expression and promote community engagement. The Development Office is the fundraising unit of the USF Foundation Inc. and the Division of University Advancement with 60 fundraisers expected to raise $150 million dollars annually.
Reporting to the Director of Development for the Muma College of Business this major gift fundraiser is responsible for establishing and managing prospect and donor relationships through identification cultivation solicitation and stewardship to meet fundraising goals in alignment with the mission and aspirations of the Muma College of Business and the University of South addition to major gift fundraising responsibilities the Associate Director of Development assists with the coordination and implementation of the Colleges annual giving program and development-related event management.
Fundraising: Identify cultivate and solicit prospects to close major gifts of $10000 for top funding priorities. Fundraising dollar visit and proposal goals will be determined through conversations with leadership and based on the prospect pool and unit potential. Maintain a significant prospect portfolio and strategically manage relationships through face-to-face and virtual visits to bring major solicitations to closure.
Collaboration: Serve as an active member of the Muma College of Business Advancement Team bringing creativity and innovation to the teams fundraising strategy. Intentionally build and invest in developing strong relationships with the Muma College of Business leaders and faculty to promote a culture of philanthropy. Identify and facilitate opportunities for university leaders and colleagues to support the cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors.
Annual Giving & Alumni Relations: Direct annual giving and alumni programs for the College of Business working in collaboration with the USF Foundation Office of Annual Giving and the USF Alumni Association.
Qualify prospective donors through strategic monthly visits.
Assist with development-related events competitions speaker series and other programs. Direct annual giving and alumni programs for the College of Business working in collaboration with the USF Foundation Office of Annual Giving and the USF Alumni Association.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications
This position requires a Bachelors degree and 4 years of fundraising experience or other appropriate related experience.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.

(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer experience in higher education. Experience and skill in successfully cultivating soliciting and closing gifts for higher education institutions experience with using fundraising management systems and technology (e.g. Ellucian Advance) to enter and report donor contact activities is also preferred. Strong computer literacy and fundraising related event management experience is a plus.
