Join J.P. Morgans Global Equity Research as an Analyst on the Australia Emerging Companies Team covering highgrowth small/midcap and preIPO/public crossover companies across Australia and New Zealand. This role is ideal for candidates with a keen interest in marketsthose who follow newsflow closely connect data to price action and enjoy forming and testing investment hypotheses. You will build and maintain financial models track catalysts and produce concise investmentrelevant research published globally to institutional clientscombining rigorous fundamental analysis with fast newsdriven execution and close collaboration with sales trading and corporate access.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain operating/valuation models (3statement DCF comps probabilityweighted scenarios cohorts) and KPI trackers tailored to emerging companies.
- Produce earnings previews/reviews initiations thematic notes and rapid eventdriven commentary with clear actionable takeaways.
- Monitor ASX/NZX announcements capital raises regulatory filings and industry data; identify catalysts assess whats priced in and run sensitivities/scenarios on key drivers.
- Create concise dashboards/visuals that surface inflections in growth margins liquidity and funding needs.
- Prepare clientready materials; support corporate access and management meetings; deliver timely targeted updates to sales and trading.
- Contribute to crosssector/thematic projects; uphold research policies information barriers and compliance/risk standards.
- Utilize AI toolsparticularly large language models (LLMs e.g. Claude)to accelerate document review transcript summarization KPI extraction and drafting; apply strong prompt design verification/QA and source traceability; use only firmapproved tools and workflows.
Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (3statement DCF trading comps scenarios/sensitivities) and solid accounting/financial statement analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Bloomberg/FactSet/Capital IQ or similar; data/analytics skills (Python/R/SQL visualization) a plus.
- Working understanding of AI tools and methods including LLMs (e.g. Claude) prompt design summarization extraction and QAused within approved compliant workflows.
- Clear concise written and verbal communication; ability to tailor messages for clients sales and trading.
- Demonstrated passion for financial markets: track newsflow and earnings calendars link fundamentals to price moves and iterate views quickly as facts change.
- Bachelors degree in finance economics engineering or related field; CFA enrollment/progression a plus.
