HID Global is seeking a Solutions Engineer who will play a pivotal role in understanding customer challenges and deriving requirements to identify opportunities for our existing hardware and software offerings along with providing professional services and software customization engagements.

This role demands a highly motivated professional who is adept at driving sales by effectively matching customer business drivers with HID Globals technology.

Your technical and business acumen will be vital in articulating and supporting complex solutions to both existing and prospective customers and ensuring the seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. This role serves as part of the Sales team contributing to the technical aspects of the customer engagement.

Essential Duties

• Serving as a technical expert within the Sales team enhancing customer engagements with technical knowledge and project management skills.
• Developing and delivering comprehensive technical solutions for customers leveraging a deep understanding of HID Globals hardware software and services while overseeing project lifecycles to ensure successful delivery.
• Preparing detailed proposal documentation for large and complex projects focusing on system integration project management and customer value maximization.
• Interpreting complex customer requirements in collaboration with regional sales product managers and systems teams to devise effective solutions managing project timelines and deliverables.
• Providing essential technical information for quotes tenders and information requests facilitating the sales process.
• Architect validate and document leading biometric solutions in partnership with Product Management Services and Engineering teams managing projects to meet customer expectations.
• Acting as HID Globals pre and post-sales technical liaison offering consulting and support to HID Global Sales Partners and Customers while managing project communications and milestones.
• Engaging in professional and technical development activities to stay at the forefront of technology trends and project management best practices.
• Liaising with Product Management and Engineering teams to tailor solutions that meet specific customer requirements ensuring effective project delivery.
• Representing HID Globals technical capabilities at trade shows and internal meetings responsible for project presentations and demonstrations.
• Proven experience in a technical lead role whereby individual took responsibility for configuring and testing internal solutions or product for a server/client architecture
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously working independently and capable of learning new concepts on ones own.

Primary Duties

• Collaborate with a broader team of skilled presales and solutions engineers on a weekly basis assisting each other in processes solutioning and projects.
• Help cover the European and African region travelling with Sales to visit strategic partners and provide excellent partner-tailored demonstrations.
• Focus on both commercial solutions and ABIS solutions for small-medium sized government entities.

Essential Qualifications

• English and Spanish fluent language.
• Bachelors degree in related fields of computer information systems is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on Requirements Analysis and Software Requirements gathering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on server / client solution architecture.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to creatively engineer solutions to solve customer problems with a strong problem-solving aptitude focused on selling to customer needs.
• Deep product knowledge and understanding of the Product Development lifecycle.
• Excellent presentation skills and understanding of enterprise computer networking standards.
• Solid technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux Server platforms including practical understanding of Networking architectures and protocols (TCP/IP FTP SMTP HTTPS).
• Proven experience with computer language or scripting technologies (as required for creating or modifying existing demo solutions for customer-facing demos or tradeshows)
• Proven use of a software development platform or compiler (having used tools such as Android Studio Visual Studio or equivalent for compiling code)
• Proven experience in a technical lead role whereby individual took responsibility for configuring and testing internal solutions or product for a server/client architecture.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously working independently and capable of learning new concepts on ones own.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional language (Portuguese) a huge plus.
• Masters degree desirable not required and Technical Certifications are a plus.
• Experience with statements of work and technical proposals.
• Experience and understanding of software solutions and professional services offerings.
• Experience with working as a liaison between Sales and an Engineering team.
• Experience with fingerprint or other biometric solutions is desired.
• Able to manage technical solutions by performing basic project management functions including but not limited to scope tracking deliverables providing meeting minutes and tracking action items.
• Experience in Enterprise level solutions from the design engineering and understanding of complex deployments across distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with virtualization/containerization technologies (installing configuring Linux containers or VMs in products such as VM Ware Server/Workstation AWS EC2 Docker/Kubernetes)
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint etc.
• Solid experience working within an MS Windows 11 environment.
• Additional Knowledge of the following software would be an advantage; Salesforce SharePoint by MS Office and Confluence/Jira by Atlassian GIT.
