Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Family Services Department isseekingtwoindividualswith an eye for programming enjoy working with families and childrenarehighly dependable havestrong customer service and boundaries andcanleveragecommunity support through programming to create a relaxing comforting and high-spirited environment for families.
TheSummer Camp Managersare responsible for the planning oversight and day-to-day operations of our 10-week long summer program.This roleis responsible for supervising 3-5 Summer CampCounselors that volunteer sporadically throughout each week and reports to the Associate Director Family Services
The Summer Camp Managers dates and hours are from WednesdayMay 20thtoFridayAugust 14th 2026 from 9:30 am to6:00 pm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage organizeexecute and interact indaily summer camp activities.
- Train and supervise Summer Camp Volunteers including delegation of tasks and enforcing guidelines.
- Manage weekly field trip activities coordinating transportation lunch communication to familiescompletion offamily permission waiver forms confirming attendees etc.
- Responsible for supervision of all children and families attending field trips.
- Maintain inventory of summer program supplies.
- Coordinate daily lunches and snacks.
- Follow RMHC Bay Area infection control policies andrelatedprecautions;andensure cleanliness and order of all program spaces.
- React effectively to emergency situations in a safe and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITE
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Related work experience thatdemonstratesinitiative program managementskillsand strong attention to detail.
- Proficiencyin English and Spanish preferred.
- Experienceor willingness tolearn how towork with families and/or children in crises a plus.
- Experienceor willingness to learn how tointeract with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds a plus.
- Experienceor willingness to learn how tosuperviseothers and delegating responsibilities a plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Highly customer serviceorientedwith enthusiasm andgoodsense of humor.
- Excellent organizational skills andpro-activeproblem solving.
- Strong attention to details.
- Well-developedoral andcommunication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of House families and related reports and documentation.
- Ability to work in a semi-medical environment with children being treated with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
- Interest in and/or understanding ofnon-profit community.
- Ability tointerface comfortably withHouse guests and staff whilemaintaininga professional and courteous relationship.
- Computer literate with MS Office suite of products on PC.
OTHER:
- Certified in Adult & Pediatric CPR First Aid and AED (Can befacilitatedby RMHC).
- Valid CA drivers Licensepreferred.
- Must be able to lift45pounds.
- TB testprior to hire date.
