Job Summary

Role: Linux Administrator

Client: Defense-Aerospace

Hourly Rate: up to $70/hr (W2 non-benefited)

Length: Long-term

Location:Scottsdale AZ

Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

Description:

Install configure and maintain ServiceNow MID servers on Linux platforms for future Discovery and integration operations
Manage Linux server infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) CentOS or Ubuntu systems supporting ServiceNow
Configure and maintain AWS infrastructure components including EC2 instances RDS databases VPCs security groups and networking for cloud-based ServiceNow resources
Implement system hardening patching and security configurations aligned with federal security baselines (STIGs CIS benchmarks)
Monitor system performance capacity and availability; troubleshoot Linux-level issues affecting ServiceNow operations
Automate deployment and configuration management using tools such as Ansible Terraform or CloudFormation
Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for MID servers and supporting infrastructure components
Coordinate with network and security teams on firewall rules routing and connectivity requirements across enclaves
Maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams runbooks and configuration management databases

Required Skills:

3 years Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
2 years hands-on AWS experience including EC2 RDS VPC IAM and CloudWatch
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform CloudFormation Ansible)
Strong scripting skills in Bash Python or similar languages
Understanding of secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP FISMA)
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification preferred
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator certification strongly preferred

Required Education and Experience:

Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science Engineering Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience or a Masters degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
