Role: Linux Administrator
Client: Defense-Aerospace
Hourly Rate: up to $70/hr (W2 non-benefited)

Location:Scottsdale AZ
Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
Description:
- Install configure and maintain ServiceNow MID servers on Linux platforms for future Discovery and integration operations
- Manage Linux server infrastructure including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) CentOS or Ubuntu systems supporting ServiceNow
- Configure and maintain AWS infrastructure components including EC2 instances RDS databases VPCs security groups and networking for cloud-based ServiceNow resources
- Implement system hardening patching and security configurations aligned with federal security baselines (STIGs CIS benchmarks)
- Monitor system performance capacity and availability; troubleshoot Linux-level issues affecting ServiceNow operations
- Automate deployment and configuration management using tools such as Ansible Terraform or CloudFormation
- Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for MID servers and supporting infrastructure components
- Coordinate with network and security teams on firewall rules routing and connectivity requirements across enclaves
- Maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams runbooks and configuration management databases
Required Skills:
- 3 years Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
- 2 years hands-on AWS experience including EC2 RDS VPC IAM and CloudWatch
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform CloudFormation Ansible)
- Strong scripting skills in Bash Python or similar languages
- Understanding of secure cloud architectures and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP FISMA)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent Linux certification preferred
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator certification strongly preferred
Required Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science Engineering Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5 years of job-related experience or a Masters degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
