The Chair Undergraduate Programs reports directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Lehigh Valley with secondary consultation from the Dean and other Associate Deans. The Department Chair is responsible for the provision of leadership and direction in the planning development and delivery of academic programs while maintaining fiscal awareness and excellence in teaching and learning practices within the Department. The Chair is accountable for program compliance with all professional and accreditation standards guidelines and benchmarks consistent with the mission vision and values of the Jefferson College of Nursing. The Chair in accordance with University Policy is responsible for securing supporting evaluating and maintaining a faculty and staff who deliver high-quality academic programming and services.Job Description
Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
Earned doctorate in nursing or an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
Certificates Licenses and Registrations:
Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
State Board of Nursing licensure for states where clinical assignments performed
Professional specialty certification as applicable to teaching assignment
Evidence of continuing education; Professional memberships relevant to areas of expertise
Experience Requirements:
Two (2) years at the rank of Instructor at an accredited institution or equivalent experience
Five (5) years full-time post-secondary teaching experience at an accredited institution OR Five (5) years full-time clinical experience OR combination of the above
Evidence of scholarship other than doctoral dissertation which may be demonstrated by contributions to the professional literature presentations at national state or local meetings and/or grantsmanship
Participation in College and/or University Committees
Participation in professional organizations at local state or national levels
Computer literacy for Microsoft Office
