PRN Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse Home Medical Equipment

Overview

Seeking a flexible Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide per-diem support in the Apple Valley Minnesota area. This unique opportunity allows you to create your own schedule while supporting critical patient care needs with most setups conveniently performed in-office.

Work Environment

This per-diem role involves flexible scheduling with opportunities to support patient equipment setups primarily for CPAP BiPAP and ventilator needs. Most setups are performed in-office during business hours (8am-5pm Monday-Friday) with occasional home visits up to 1.5 hours away. Youll work independently responding to patient requirements with clinical expertise and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
- Provide equipment education and setup (primarily in-office)
- Monitor respiratory equipment function
- Perform CPAP BiPAP and ventilator setups and maintenance
- Communicate patient findings to physicians
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Respond to equipment issues as needed
- Educate patients and families on equipment use

Qualifications

Required:

- Active RRT CRT or RN licensure in Minnesota (RT preferred)
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work independently

Preferred:

- Completion of accredited respiratory care program
- Experience with CPAP BiPAP and ventilators (required for RN candidates)
- Home respiratory care experience
- Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
- One year of related work experience

Physical Demands

- Lift and carry office equipment at times
- Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
- Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
- Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
- Requires sitting walking standing talking and listening
- Required to comply with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy:
  - Medical evaluation and fit testing compliance in a timely manner
  - Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
