Heres how a Junior Estimator for PCL Construction Management Inc. within Edmonton Buildings contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
- Supports estimators on preparing bids and proposals.
- Completes quantity material and labor takeoffs from project documents.
- Applies material unit prices or allowances and base labor productivities to the estimate.
- Assists with bid document control and documenting organizing and archiving all information relating to the estimate for successful transfer to the project team.
- Supports lead bid runner with bid-day assignments.
- Solicits competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers for pursuit.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders including lead estimator lead bid runner subtrade partners and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
- Some relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry and key principles involved in bid preparation.
- Understands and uses takeoff systems.
- Ability to converse with and solicit trades and comfortable with cold-calling.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders including the ability to solicit subtrade partners and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
