Scope and General Purpose

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Payments Officer to join their Payments Department.

The Payments Officer will be responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate processing of paymentsmaintaining records and handling payment-related queries. This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of financial transactions and compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payment Processing: Execute and manage daily payment transactions including domestic and international transfers ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

2. Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of payment accounts to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are promptly addressed.

3. Compliance: Ensure all payment activities comply with internal policies regulatory standards and anti-fraud measures.

4. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of all payment transactions and provide reports as required.

5. Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payment issues or discrepancies liaising with banks and internal departments as necessary.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve payment processes enhance efficiency and reduce errors.

Customer Support: Handle payment-related inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders with a high level of professionalism and service in accordance with the Group standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to support month-end and year-end financial close processes.

Requirements

Education: Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar payments role preferably within the banking or financial services sector.

o Experience with international payment systems and currency management is a plus.

Technical Skills:

o Strong numerical skills.

o Proficiency in using financial software and payment processing systems.

o Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Soft Skills:

o Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

o Effective communication skills both written and verbal in both English and Greek languages.

The salary for this position is in the range ofdepending on experience and qualifications.

Working Hours onsite Larnaca:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:30 17:15 (45-minute break)
  • Friday: 08:30 17:00 (30-minute break)
