The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team in Amazon Web Services is a project management and execution team that manages construction activity within our operational data center spaces across Sydney and Melbourne. The CPI team is tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space power and cooling within these operational data centers. These activities are outside of the scope of standard construction delivery and regular preventative or operational maintenance tasks.

We are currently seeking a passionate Data Center Project Manager in AWS to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers in Melbourne. You will be part of a highly creative efficient team tasked with tackling implementation challenges throughout design planning and execution stages in live Amazon data facilities. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for project oversight and review of all disciplines including but not limited to electrical mechanical controls and architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other team and organizations. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to design develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of projects will include but are not limited to the improvement of electrical mechanical fire water and fuel systems as well as civil and general building works. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction coordination implementation execution control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy commitments and goals.

- Experience in MS Excel Word and Windows Operating Systems
- Experience managing and negotiating contracts and vendor relationships
- Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering engineering technology or equivalent trade discipline or 5 years of project management and implementation experience
- Experience thriving in a high-velocity rapidly evolving environment

- Knowledge of critical data center equipment
- Knowledge of engineering documentation electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure
- 3 years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience
