The Engineering Manager for AQCS and Boiler Services at GE Vernova Steam Power India Services Engineering will be responsible for leading a team that delivers engineering activities related to services projects. This includes performing design engineering reverse engineering and providing engineering support for O&M (Operations and Maintenance) for AQCS products. The role will involve responsibility for delivery basic and detail engineering activities for subcritical boilers supercritical two-pass/tower-type boilers electrostatic precipitators and flue gas desulphurization equipment. The Engineering Manager will also perform problem-solving establish customer connections for challenging projects and mentor the team to release quality designs.Job Description
The Engineering Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals programs and processes for GE Vernova Steam Power India Services Engineering business this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems develop and execute objectives for self and others and demonstrate the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:
Lead a team responsible for delivering engineering activities related to Boiler and AQCS services projects including Clean Combustion Electronics Lab activities.
Promote technical excellence within the team and support groups through design/technical/constructability reviews participation lessons learned awareness and application and technical innovation/growth fostering from tender to end of project engineering.
Ensure GE SQDC Principles are adopted and followed by team members in this specific order.
Work closely with Engineering Leaders Engineering Managers and Global functional managers and other stakeholders to define appropriate work plans & priorities that are consistent with the organization and are accountable for achieving the same.
Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
Drive common initiatives/metrics such as Life Saving Principles embedded in Design Document One-Time Delivery Right First Time Kaizen Cost out Productivity quality and lean six-sigma across the team.
Define roles & responsibilities for assigned personnel conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning.
Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and achieved.
Establish/modify/monitor overall engineering projects/NPI program requirements timing and resources of the team and support the team to meet/exceed business objectives and goals.
Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of activities vertically and horizontally in the organization.
Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth technical development and improved interpersonal skills. Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the section/organization to customer/business needs.
Ensure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented.
Communicate with management on technical organizational and personnel issues. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback coaching and counseling.
Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explain information; develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the field. Convey performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
Engineering degree in Mechanical Instrumentation and Controls Chemical Engineering or equivalent including Power Plant systems.
Minimum 12 years of engineering experience in Basic & Detailed Engineering of Boiler/AQCS projects.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to identify and manage team organizational risks.
Able to work to deadlines under pressure while maintaining the safety quality and engineering integrity of the solution.
Conversant with understanding of processes and handling site challenges.
Proven skills in managing and leading a team with a strong technical background.
Strong written and verbal communication skills experienced in creating and presenting to other stakeholders.
Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel to sites.
