Looking to get paid hands on experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Want to spend your summer making a difference and getting relevant internship experience Build your resume and spend your summer working for Residential Services!
RSI Community is a nonprofit in Chapel Hill NC that provides support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the form of group home settings and a day program. RSI supports 120 residents throughout the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our team for our first ever internship program!
Interns will be responsible for helping with the day to day support of our residents. You may do a variety of things each day including:
- Assisting with personal care
- Accompanying residents to jobs and community outings
- Helping residents with goal setting and implementation
Interns will also receive the following benefits:
- Experience in their field of interest
- $14.50/hour for full time
- Up to $2000 sign on bonus
- Intern networking lunches and meet and greets with senior level staff including directors and supervisors
- Industry training including: First aid CPR NCI (North Carolina Interventions) Orientation and Autism training
- These are training classes that will put you one step ahead when searching for positions after graduation!
The summer internship program will run from May August with the possibility of extending your stay into the fall semester based on successful employment.
Interns must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have High school diploma or GED
- Have had their drivers license for over 2 years
- Have a successful background check including a negative drug test
- Must be able to commit to 90 days
Full time 1st shift schedule:
- Monday - Friday 7a-3p
Full time 2nd shift schedules
- Tuesday-Saturday
- Sunday-Thursday
