Position Summary

As Director Energy Policy and Regulation you will be responsible for Squadron Energys position on energy industry market and regulatory matters. You will provide strategic advice lead advocacy efforts and work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate complex regulatory environments and influence policy decisions that support renewable energy development.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage regulatory and energy policy activities across the organisation
  • Monitor analyse and interpret energy policy regulatory and legislative developments
  • Develop and maintain a regulatory policy change tracking framework
  • Provide strategic advice on policy risks opportunities and advocacy strategies
  • Lead the development and coordination of highquality policy submissions
  • Engage with government regulators industry bodies and other key stakeholders
  • Represent Squadron Energy in industry forums conferences and working groups
  • Contribute to thought leadership white papers and industry publications
  • Support internal teams on regulatory compliance and emerging policy issues
  • Feed policy insights into portfolio development planning and business strategy

About you

You are an experienced energy policy or regulatory professional with a strong understanding of Australias energy markets and regulatory frameworks. You are comfortable operating in complex environments influencing senior stakeholders and translating policy into practical business outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in energy policy regulatory affairs or government relations
  • Indepth knowledge of energy policy legislation and regulatory processes
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and market dynamics
  • Demonstrated experience conducting policy analysis and impact assessments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationshipbuilding capability
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating across a matrix organisation

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics energy policy public policy law environmental studies or a related discipline
