Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the medical/surgical units and the Joint Center. The Clinical Nurse Manager organizes and directs the work of nursing units and programs and coordinates staff to assure that effective nursing services are provided and quality standards are met using a multidisciplinary team approach to care. The function of the Clinical Nurse Manager is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the professional nurse the patient experience nursing students and staff. The Clinical Nurse Manager holds 24-hour 7-day responsibility and accountability for staff and students participating in the program. This position reports to the Clinical Director Medical/Surgical Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school requiredPrevious experience in a supervisory capacity within Med/Surg required certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader or Nursing Administration preferredMasters of Science in Nursing from an accredited school or matriculation preferredCurrent Massachusetts s licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) requiredMinimum of three (3) to five (5) years current clinical experience requiredExperience with the development of a DEU or similar Nursing University / hospital based collaborative program preferred Current American Heart Association BLS certification required ACLS required Leadership skills and excellent clinical competence including proficiency in the nursing and improvement processes required. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal team building collaboration negotiation problem solving as well as oral and written communication skills required.
