About the Role

The Head of Finance Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals Segment leads the financial functions of the Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals business segment within Thomson Reuters. This role brings strategic and financial insights to operational decision making. As a forward-thinking leader focuses on both the internal and external financial and non-financial elements of the business. Also makes strategically sound financial decisions to drive intrinsic value and generate increased shareholder returns. Having a deep understanding of all aspects of the business effectively partners with the President Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals to grow the business. With the BU President co-owns the financial operational and investment decisions for the business. Champions the Enterprise by building synergies leveraging scale and reducing complexity and cost. Serves as the single point of accountability for endtoend finance outcomes for the Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals segment including FP&A controllership reporting and decision support.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with business unit President in developing and implementing short and long-term business and operational strategy policies and mechanisms to drive profitable growth.
  • Understands the global marketplace competitors customers products risks and related macro trends impacting the economy and competitive landscape.
  • Helps steer the overall strategy and execution of the business plan as part of the Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals and Finance Leadership teams; implements initiatives and tracking mechanisms to achieve financial targets.
  • Champions the adoption of AI automation and advanced analytics best practices within the Finance organization to enhance decisionmaking forecasting accuracy efficiency and strategic insight.
  • Partners with the business unit President Strategy and Product to identify acquisition and divestiture candidates; takes a lead role in M&A activities in close partnership with Business Development
  • Provides strategic decision support including go-to-market and sales team support partnership opportunities pricing analytics commercial structures and financial risk management.
  • Acts a champion for enterprise Finance agenda (e.g. enterprise Finance platforms talent development initiatives).
  • Develops and maintains a high performing team inclusive of indirect reports.
  • Sets a strong leadership tone for the segment by modeling enterprise values fostering an inclusive and highperformance culture and developing a strong succession pipeline of finance leaders.
  • Partners effectively across the Finance organization and works closely with Decision Support & Insights Group on financial reporting actionable insights and key metrics.
  • Champions the adoption of AI automation and advanced analytics best practices within the Finance organization to enhance decisionmaking forecasting accuracy efficiency and strategic insight.
  • Supports Go to Market in contract negotiations/optimization; attend key customer meetings and events.
  • Responsible for accurate and actionable financial forecasts across the segment
  • Provides leadership and insight regarding strategic business and operational plans projects processes and technology /systems.
  • Ensures the business unit is in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Understands and mitigates potential risks for the Company; reports risks to Internal Audit / Audit Committee as required.
  • Leads / sponsors an Enterprise-wide global process improvement initiatives such as process improvements lending to improved synergies and utilization of scale and reducing costs.
  • Member of the Finance Leadership team; make recommendations regarding Enterprise-wide financial policies projects processes and workforce.
  • Clearly communicates financial information to non-financial colleagues including Tax Audit & Accounting Professionals post-earnings messages and town halls.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Head of Finance TAAP possesses the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years fiscal responsibility for a global company business unit or function
  • MBA or equivalent degree in business finance or related field

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations unless otherwise noted the base compensation range for this role is $268000 USD - $402000 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individuals knowledge skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
