Director of Agency Development
Job Summary
About The Role Northwest Partners is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Director of Agency Development to lead coach and develop a high-performing team focused on driving new business acquisition strengthening existing agency relationships and delivering sustained growth across key distribution channels. This role is responsible for guiding Agency Development Managers to achieve and exceed performance targets through effective coaching structured activity territory planning and strong relationship management. You will also play a key role in recruiting and developing talent while ensuring a strong focus on agent engagement retention and customer satisfaction. The position involves driving distribution productivity using CRM systems such as Salesforce to track performance identify opportunities and ensure accurate addition you will collaborate with internal product and marketing teams to share market insights and support strategic growth initiatives. We are seeking a strong leader with a results-driven mindset excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build relationships influence stakeholders and deliver growth in a fast-paced environment. What you will do
- Lead and manage the Agency Development team to achieve targets across new business acquisition retention and agent satisfaction
- Recruit train and develop Agency Development Managers (ADMs) to build a high-performing results-driven team
- Coach ADMs on performance improvement through structured activity (calls emails field visits and virtual engagement)
- Drive agency growth by strengthening relationships with existing and new agents ensuring consistent premium and production growth
- Oversee territory planning and execution ensuring ADMs meet or exceed defined performance goals
- Monitor key performance indicators identifying underperformance trends and implementing corrective action plans
- Ensure consistent use of Salesforce CRM for accurate tracking of sales activity pipeline and reporting
- Deliver training and ongoing education on products underwriting guidelines and digital partnerships
- Conduct field-based agency visits inspections and attendance at industry events to strengthen relationships and compliance
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to provide market feedback and identify growth opportunities
- Produce accurate reporting on agency performance quote activity and written premium metrics
- Support strategic initiatives to improve distribution productivity and overall agency performance
What you will bring
- 7 years experience in P&C insurance account management agency development or outside sales
- 5 years experience in leadership coaching or team management within a high-performance environment
- Strong leadership ability with a track record of motivating teams and driving measurable results
- Proven experience in relationship building with agents customers or key stakeholders
- Commercial mindset with a focus on growth retention and performance improvement
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to develop high-performing sales professionals
- Experience using CRM systems (ideally Salesforce) to manage pipeline reporting and performance tracking
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to influence at all levels
- Analytical approach to performance management using data to identify trends and opportunities
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable proactive and solutions-focused with a strong bias for action
- Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings training and industry events
