PurposeThe Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer position under the New Generation of Academic Scholars Programme (NGAP) which is a nationally funded programme aimed at developing the next generation of academics through a structured and supported career-development pathway.
The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Accounting and Economics Sciences as a lecturer in Accounting while receiving reduced teaching loads and structured mentorship to support the completion of a doctoral qualification development of teaching competence and establishment of a research profile in accounting. The incumbent will contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching curriculum development and academic activities within the department in line with the objectives of the NGAP programme as well as the institution.
Minimum Requirements
- A masters degree in accounting or commerce or any equivalent masters degree (specializing in Accounting Management Accounting Auditing or Taxation).
- Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above at masters level.
- Must be forty (40) years or younger.
- At least two years teaching experience in a higher education environment
- Commit to the completion of Doctoral studies within a prescribed period.
Recommended requirements
- Registration for a Doctoral degree
- Membership of professional associations/bodies
- Completed moderator and assessor training programmes
- Knowledge of technology-enhanced learning
