Working in conjunction with a Metropolitan Transit Task Force and our client security teams. MetroLink security professionals provide safety and security of riders on the transit light rail system station platforms throughout the Greater St. Louis region. Customer service skills are a high priority. This is an outdoor posted position. Duties will include post security until relieved.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Preferred Skills: Ability to Lift 20 Pounds

What Youll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors employees and/or contractors by following security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings parking areas and perimeter routes helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including de-escalation notification of appropriate personnel and support during evacuations and/or drills.
• Monitor access points and controlled areas verifying identification and/or authorization as required and directing visitors to appropriate destinations according to site procedures.
• Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols incidents and unusual activity and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with handcuffs pepper spray and/or a baton is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
