Accounting and Reconciliation Specialist
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associates degree in Accounting required. Bachelors Degree preferred
- Experience with cash reconciliation required
- 3-5 years of experience working in a similar position preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

- Director of Financial Reporting
Supervises: NA
Job Goal(s):
Performs the full range of professional duties required to support the business department including the performance of complex and/or sensitive activities; may manage large-scale long-term projects; and performs related duties as required or assigned.
Position Responsibilities:
- May represent the business department in meetings planning sessions or formal presentations
- Provides expertise within specific functions and responsibilities of the department
- Serves as a resource for school-based administration and staff
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reconciliation of district bank accounts including operating payroll grants nutrition services and student activity funds
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers and supporting documentation
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies outstanding checks voids and unidentified deposits in a timely manner
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Communicate discrepancies and corrective actions clearly to administrators and staff
- Maintain accurate fund accounting records in compliance with governmental accounting standards (GASB)
- Generate reports from financial systems to support reconciliation and reporting
