Job Summary

Part-time School Psychologist
2026-2027 School year

Salary:Compensation is based on applicable experience. Benefits eligibility will be determined based on the assigned FTE in accordance with district Mandan Public Schools Benefits Information.

Position Summary:

  • The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic social emotional and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. The School Psychologist implements student specific and classroom level social/emotional/behavior programs and data collection systems. As well as monitors the completion of case study evaluations and participates in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems programs and services that maximize students social emotional and educational collaboration with staff families students and communities the school psychologist promotes effective educational environments.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct psychological assessments interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences team meetings and problem-solving meetings.
  • Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and MTSS planning.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts while providing insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Integrate psycho-educational services into the classroom environment as appropriate.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
  • Establish program development to further the integration of social coping and problem solving in the classroom.
  • Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed.
  • Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals or agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
  • Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff parents and/or community.
  • Proficiently use technology to communicate compile reports collect and analyze data.
  • Participate in building level or program activities and meetings as appropriate.
  • Assume other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Support MSSEU Policy the MSSEU and Governing Board Goals and Objectives and abide by The School Code of Ethics.

Reports To:

  • MSSEU Special Education Director.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible to obtain or hold a valid ND Teaching Certificate in School Psychology. Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluating outcomes of services.
  • Knowledge of the learning processes appropriate instructional interventions to meet students needs and the ability to implement and assess intervention effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of practices to support social-emotional behavioral mental health collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their applications .
  • Participate in certification of behavior management techniques ex. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and techniques.
