Student & Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service health wellbeing connection and belonging residential living food services sports recreation career services and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25000 undergraduate graduate and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.

Cornell Healths more than 200 employees collaborate to provide integrated and culturally-sensitive mental health medical health promotion public health student accommodations and occupational medicine care and services. Dually focused on holistic health of Cornell students and well-being of the larger campus community the unit supports readiness to learn to participate fully in the Cornell experience and to achieve academic work and life success. The Data Analyst for Student Health & Well-being provides direct support to the Director Strategic Planning and Analysis in alignment with Cornell Health initiatives. The Data Analyst researches topics relevant to student health and wellbeing identifies ways Cornell can gather and analyze data more effectively and uses key findings to make recommendations for quality improvement. This role assists in analyzing the effectiveness of new programming initiatives to improve student mental health and wellbeing by expanding Embedded Therapy and Well-being Coaching. The Data Analyst uses data to identify disparities researches strategies to address them and makes recommendations to the Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis as well as the senior leadership team. The data analyst assists in developing implementing and analyzing custom surveys and program evaluations. They also support the Director in leading Cornell Healths quality improvement initiatives to align with accreditation standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in health administration Health Informatics or related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in data gathering and assessment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience utilizing tools to gather analyze and report data to identify factors impacting organizational and/or program performance to gain greater insights into trends and how to address them.
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of Cornell Health.
  • Ability to manage and carefully maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential sensitive and/or private records and information protects information appropriately.
  • Experience working with inclusion belonging and wellbeing programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in health administration Health Informatics or related field
  • More than 3 years of experience in strategic planning data analysis and research with proven outcomes.
  • Interest in and concern for health problems encountered in a campus community.
