Position Summary:

The Facilities Operations Supervisor is a vital part of our Facilities Department ensuring the hospital campus remains safe secure accessible and professionally maintained at all times. This role provides hands-on leadership to frontline teams while overseeing daily operations incident response parking management and vendor performance.


As a Facilities Operations Supervisor your contributions will directly affect patient experience staff safety regulatory compliance and overall campus operations. The ideal candidate for this role will be a confident leader who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment values accountability and teamwork and brings strong operational judgment to complex and evolving situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to Security Grounds and Parking teams
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure a safe secure and well-maintained hospital campus
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies legislation fire code and safety standards
  • Lead and support response to security incidents (Code White HUGS alarms access control issues)
  • Oversee parking operations including enforcement vendor coordination and revenue oversight
  • Monitor contractor performance for snow removal landscaping parking systems and security systems
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures schedules and staffing plans
  • Conduct performance management including coaching progressive discipline and annual evaluations
  • Manage departmental budgets service contracts and cost control initiatives
  • Collaborate with Clinical and Corporate teams to resolve operational concerns impacting patient and staff experience
  • Review reports related to incidents parking utilization safety concerns and service performance
  • Support capital and infrastructure projects impacting security grounds and parking
  • Participate in emergency planning business continuity and after-hours response as required
  • Promote a culture of accountability professionalism and customer service

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Facilities Management Security Management Law Enforcement or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive supervisory experience in security
  • Experience managing unionized staff in a healthcare or public-sector setting
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and relevant Ontario regulations
  • Knowledge of Municipal Bylaws and Ontario Accessibility Requirements
  • Knowledge of Ontario Private Security and Investigative Services Act
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and Trespass to Property Act
  • Fire Code and Building Code (Ontario)
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention control (IPAC) Procedures
  • Valid Ontario drivers license
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or equivalent security designation preferred

  • Training in Emergency Management Incident Command System (ICS) or Crisis Management preferred

  • Experience managing parking operations and third-party vendor contracts preferred

  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams
  • Analytical skills to interpret data related to parking utilization incidents and service metrics
  • Reliability and integrity to attend work and scheduled/agreed-to shifts
