JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Project Manager Capital & Maintenancethe Supervisor Facilitiesisresponsibletooverseeandcoordinatesday-to-dayfacilities preventivemaintenanceandrepairwork in a safe and efficient manner following recognized industry standards regulations and codes including the Occupational HealthandSafety order andappropriateservicelevelsbyoverseeing employees and contractors completingcleaningrepairsand maintenanceof buildings groundsand associatedtools andequipmentatSix Nations Polytechnic campuses contributing towards providing a safeaccessible clean and comfortable campus environment.
TheSupervisor Facilitiesis required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff students stakeholders and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching learning and work environment consistent withHodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:nivalues ofGanigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio(Respect and the Good Mind).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Building Maintenance and Sanitation50%
- Performingmaintenance and repair work including groundskeepingand landscapingactivities;
- Cleaning and sanitizing campuslocations;
- Moving furnituresuppliesand miscellaneous equipment
- Handling of chemicals materials powered and non-powered equipment and tools
- Daily removal ofrefuse and recycling disposing of bio-hazardous waste in a compliantmanner;
- Other related duties asrequired.
General Administration 20%
- Providing assistancein writing scopes of work technical specifications and guidelines and recommending sequencing ofwork;
- Maintaining a tracking system for maintenance and administrative tasks to ensure they are scheduled andcompleted;
- Participating in staff Board ad hoc ordinary committees and working groups staff training and information sessions as required;
- Tracking and monitoring facilities service requests to ensure requests are completed within established timelines and qualitystandards;
- Coordinating and working with supervisor for the monitoring ofmaterial/equipment andsupplies inventory and ordering ofasrequired;
- Other related duties asrequired.
Leadership 20%
- Managing the performance and work of Facilities team members including assisting with work when required and completing scheduled performance evaluations;
- Providing facility supervisory and support coverage at both campuses asrequired;
- Trainingdevelopingand providing ongoing support to Facilities team members ensuring that regular one-on-one meetings are carried out and that personal development plans are inplace;
- Monitoring cleaning and janitorial work by contractors and Facilities team members to ensure quality assurance andassistingwith work whenrequired;
- Other related duties asrequired.
Building Safety and Security 10%
- Ensures the safe and secure opening and closing of the buildings including the security alarmsystems;
- Verify that all campus areas inside and outside meet safetyandaccessibility requirementsand that all equipment is functioningefficiently;
- Other related duties asrequired.
EDUCATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Completion of a formal post-secondary college of one to two academic years in FacilitiesorOperations ManagementDiploma.
EXPERIENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / CULTURE AND LANGUAGE EXPERTISE
Over 3 years and including 5 years of experience in supervision offacilitiesstaff and a strong mechanical aptitude.
