Location Requirement

Although this role is remote the selected candidate must visit the McHenry IL office at least once per month and potentially more frequently. Candidates should be located within reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to the McHenry area.

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Estimator with strong commercial roofing and/or architectural metal experience. This role is responsible for preparing competitive bids on large-scale commercial construction projects driving new business opportunities and supporting revenue growth through strong client engagement and technical estimating expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Bidding

  • Review drawings specifications and project documentation to prepare accurate and competitive estimates.

  • Lead bid preparation for large-scale commercial projects including multi-million-dollar contracts.

  • Conduct site visits to assess scope materials labor and logistical considerations.

  • Utilize estimating software to calculate costs for labor materials equipment and subcontractors.

Sales & Client Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors property managers and building owners.

  • Respond to RFQs/RFPs and proactively pursue qualified leads.

  • Present proposals professionally and negotiate contracts in coordination with project management.

  • Support project handoff to operations upon award.

Market & Strategy

  • Monitor market trends competitor pricing and industry developments.

  • Identify strategic opportunities to improve win rates and profitability.

Must Have Qualifications

  • 510 years of proven experience in a commercial construction estimating and sales role (roofing or architectural metal strongly preferred).

  • Demonstrated experience bidding on large-scale commercial construction projects including multi-million-dollar contracts.

  • Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems (TPO EPDM PVC modified bitumen built-up roofing metal systems) and/or metal panel systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints specifications and construction documents.

  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to travel to job sites as required.
