Job Summary

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity for a Quality Assurance Supervisor at the Intensive Behavior Center.

We are seeking a dynamic professional to lead Incident Management and Quality Improvement & Compliance initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating incident reporting investigations and corrective actions to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. The position oversees data collection trend analysis and strategy development for incident prevention while serving as a liaison with regulatory agencies and managing DOJ investigations. Additionally the role directs the organizations quality improvement program monitors performance metrics and ensures compliance with policies training and audits. The ideal candidate will collaborate with leadership and committees to drive continuous improvement maintain accreditation standards and safeguard patient care and organizational integrity. This position Develops and coordinates incident management. This position supervises three full time FTEs.

TheIntensive Behavior Center (IBC)is an intensive short-term treatment facility in Boulder Montana for individuals who have intellectual disabilities. This 12-bed facility provides an environment for building healthy effective and fulfilling lives so those receiving treatment can live successfully in the community after discharge.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity:

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • Bachelors degree in psychology sociology human services special education or other human service degree.

  • Two years of providing services to individuals with developmental disability.

  • One year of Incident Management and quality assurance experience. One year of Data Base oversight.

  • Two years of supervisory experience.

  • Other equivalent combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Candidates must possess strong knowledge of workers compensation laws OSHA ADA FMLA CMS guidelines and investigative techniques as well as state and federal regulations. Familiarity with the Montana Safety Culture Act MCA ARMs and resources for developmental disabilities treatment plans and behavior services. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills leadership ability and the capacity to work collaboratively across departments and agencies. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving expertise tact and professionalism in maintaining effective relationships. Proficiency in operating computers and office softwareincluding spreadsheets word processing databases email and internet applicationsis required. Additional skills include group mediation job analysis and the ability to objectively assess incidents and implement solutions.
The position also involves working in a physically demanding and high-risk environment engaging with individuals who may exhibit volatile behaviors due to mental illness. Duties include extensive walking bending lifting and working both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals extreme temperatures infectious diseases and bodily fluids. Candidates must be prepared to assist in de-escalating patients when necessary and work around individuals with behavioral disorders or criminal backgrounds. Occasional travel for training or site visits may be required and while the standard schedule is 40 hours per week extended hours may be necessary.
