Role Detail

Joining our high performing Business Development & Marketing team this role will support the development and preparation of market-leading bids and proposals to deliver growth opportunities in Australia and internationally. The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining bids content tools and templates.

Reporting to a Senior Client Relationship Manager and working in close collaboration with other Strategic Pursuits & Bids professionals this exceptional opportunity represents a chance to develop and enhance your career in a broad business development and marketing role with recognised leaders in their field - where youll be both challenged by and exposed to a number of development opportunities.

This 12mth contract will have a primary focus on supporting our Government Sector on tenders and pitches plus our pivotal Disputes Resolution (DR) practice will be seen as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for bids in these spaces working closely with the BD team that supports these areas acting as a vital link to the wider team.

With flexibility to be based in Sydney Brisbane Canberra or Melbourne and a balanced approach to WFH key responsibilities to this dynamic role will be:

  • Assisting with project management of strategic high value bids and proposals with a focus on Panel RFTs (national multi-practice group multi-office) working closely with BD Sector and / or Practice Group leads as required
  • Preparing high quality documents and materials including client driven collateral pitches and tenders directories submissions reports and award submissions
  • Liaison point between BD and other KWM internal stakeholders (such as General Counsel Pricing and Conflicts teams) in the development of tender responses
  • Maintenance of a centralised resources hub for pitch templates tools and best practice examples
  • Identifying client feedback opportunities in relation to firm proposals
  • Maintaining client data and client reporting in the CRM including identifying process improvements as it relates to the bids function

About You

This 12mth contract will see you join the team during a time of rapid change what remains is our commitment to development and a supportive environment.

At this level you will be able to confidently put together a solid first draft of a bids/pursuit and capability statement and eager to continue to hone your expertise in this area. You will enjoy working autonomously but also enjoy the support from senior BD members.

As a top tier law firm we go for high quality high stakes pitches that make the media. Your curiosity for how things work behind the scenes overlapped with a commercial approach will assist in setting you up for success. You will also need:

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with demonstrated track record of success in business development roles within a corporate professional services or related organisation
  • Expertise experience and track record in previous bids roles and/or practice development and/or key account management
  • Ability to juggle numerous projects in a fast-paced environment working to tight timetables; composed under pressure and with a high attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a flair for language and visual presentation
  • Interest in BD & Marketing and contributing to enhancing the client experience
  • Ability to work well with others and as part of a large multi-layered team to work collaboratively and be a team player
  • Ability and willingness to communicate with management partners and clients at all levels (i.e. considering the optimal approach to relevant stakeholders and how to elicit the desired response)
  • Ability to undertake research tasks and apply analytical skills
  • Proactivity and ability to analyse problem solve and apply appropriate use of judgment
  • Ability to apply AI to drive efficiencies across the entire bids lifecycle
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing Business Law or Arts (preferred)
