The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is responsible for training educating and representing psychiatrists in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. About the role

Fixed-term (6 months) Full-time Melbourne CBD (Hybrid)

The Project Advisor provides strategic advice subject-matter expertise and practical guidance to support the design governance and delivery of key College initiatives. This includes the development of contemporary governance frameworks and implementation of the RANZCP Strategic Plan.

Reporting to the Project Director the role acts as a trusted advisor and delivery partner across multiple concurrent projects. Working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders the Project Advisor will drive momentum strengthen accountability and support effective decision-making to ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget.

  • Provide strategic advice and practical guidance across priority College projects
  • Support the design of a contemporary governance framework aligned with best practice
  • Review and analyse the current governance structure and identify improvement opportunities
  • Establish clear decision-making pathways structures and accountability mechanisms
  • Assist with implementation of the Strategic Plan
  • Support development of business and operational plans aligned to the Colleges Purpose Vision and Values
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to track progress and support Board and Executive decision-making
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support delivery across multiple concurrent projects and maintain awareness of the operating environment

What youll bring

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across varied audiences
  • Experience in governance design reform or review at a senior level
  • Proven ability to work with Boards and senior executives
  • Sound understanding of contemporary governance fiduciary regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Experience in complex member-based or health organisations
  • Ability to translate strategy into operating models governance structures and processes
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading sensitive organisation-wide change
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or valid Australian work rights

  • $80000 to $90000 Super 12% Salary Packaging (up to $15899 for general living expenses and up to $2650 for meal entertainment) commensurate with skills and experience.
