Position Summary
Responsible for performing daily custodial services for the Montrose Recreation District Park bathroom facilities and provides assistance with additional maintenance duties as may be required. This position is centrally involved in the cleaning and custodial maintenance of the Ute McNeil and Holly Park bathrooms. This position is responsible for carrying out the directions given by the Custodial Leader Maintenance Specialist and the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. This position is directly responsible for helping to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the overall parks facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Clean all park bathrooms hard flooring and empty trash.
- Communicate cleaning products that need ordered to Custodial Leader such as: cleaning supplies trash bags and air fresheners as needed.
- Keeps all custodial and storage rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
- Advises Park Maintenance Supervisor of any safety issues needed repairs and/or restocking of inventory by filling out necessary maintenance and order requests.
- Sanitize fixtures sweep mop and remove trash from parks and/or building grounds.
- Picks up trash in and around the parks.
- Empty trash receptacles.
- Pulls weeds.
- Cleaning restrooms and fixing or replacing damaged facility items as necessary.
- Perform minor maintenance duties on various building systems.
- Complete all duties listed on the cleaning check-list on a regular basis and sign off validating their completion.
- Takes initiative to improve the building quality by meeting the needs and expectations of the Districts users and patrons.
Position Qualifications
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older
- Applicant preferred to have a valid Drivers License
- Necessary knowledge skills and abilities relative to position.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and the public.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Primary functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for operating equipment andmanual labor (i.e. mopping cleaning lifting tables and chairs and etc.).
- This position requires some moderate to heavy lifting and close proximity to chemicals used in a parksenvironment.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to hot or cold conditions and toxicor caustic chemicals.

Compensation: $15.90 - $17.44 per hour
