Purpose:
Under general supervision this position leads and performs tasks in repair installation maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and circuits.
Duties Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and functions pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Pulls wire conduit cable etc.
Connects power cables to equipment including generators alarm systems lighting systems etc.
Conducts on-the-job training. Assigns duties and monitor task completion.
Uses various electrician hand tools including snips screwdrivers pliers wire cutters etc.
Operates soldering tools.
Reads profiles and blueprints.
Measures cuts and bends wire and conduit using rulers and hand tools.
Installs wire conduit coaxial cable etc. Installs conductors.
Splices electrical wiring including stripping insulation twisting wires together soldering tape appling terminal caps etc.
Operates various power saws such as radial arm skill etc.
Operates drills buffers grinders sanders etc.
Operates electronic testing equipment.

Must possess required knowledge skills abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of basic electricity.
Knowledge of safety rules and procedures when working with energized electrical equipment.
Knowledge of building codes applicable to level of construction.
Knowledge of equipment tools and materials used in electrical maintenance and construction.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints drawings and schematics
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus three (3) years experience in repair testing maintenance or installation or electrical systems or equipment.
One (1) additional year of relevant work experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education with a maximum substitution of four (4) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Appropriate licensing may be required.
Preferred Experience:
Commercial experience in repair maintenance or installation of electrical systems.
Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Word and Excel for reporting purposes.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Possess a valid State of Texas Apprentice Electrician License.
Other:
Ability to travel to more than one work location.

The purpose of the Electrician II position is to perform work under the supervision of the Master Electrician while supporting the HVAC Maintenance team by repairing installing maintaining and testing electrical equipment and circuits. This position will also perform general electrical maintenance and repairs for commercial facilities as needed.
