Qualifications

Clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of the superintendent and his/her relationship with the governing board staff and community
Extensive experience with curriculum and instruction particularly K-12 Arizona Standards
Skilled in fostering community relations and understands small town/school dynamics
Willingness/Ability to take on multiple roles in asmall district that are typically handled by Principals Directors or Assistant Superintendent
Effective leader with proven management skillsin particular experiencedcoaching his/her administrative team in leadership development as needed
Ability to motivate and retain district employees by instituting a positive district culture
Strong communication skills
Experience working with diverse populations
Understanding of special education laws and regulations and ability tomonitor compliance with state and federal guidelines
Strong knowledge and ability to perform duties related to Arizona school finance
Strong financial management skills
Experience accomplishing district academic outcomes with proven results
Creative and innovative thinkerto approach continuation and/or expansion ofcourses programs andextracurricularactivities
Experience integratingtechnologyin classrooms to promote student engagement and creative thinking
