Qualifications
- Clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of the superintendent and his/her relationship with the governing board staff and community
- Extensive experience with curriculum and instruction particularly K-12 Arizona Standards
- Skilled in fostering community relations and understands small town/school dynamics
- Willingness/Ability to take on multiple roles in asmall district that are typically handled by Principals Directors or Assistant Superintendent
- Effective leader with proven management skillsin particular experiencedcoaching his/her administrative team in leadership development as needed
- Ability to motivate and retain district employees by instituting a positive district culture
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Understanding of special education laws and regulations and ability tomonitor compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Strong knowledge and ability to perform duties related to Arizona school finance
- Strong financial management skills
- Experience accomplishing district academic outcomes with proven results
- Creative and innovative thinkerto approach continuation and/or expansion ofcourses programs andextracurricularactivities
- Experience integratingtechnologyin classrooms to promote student engagement and creative thinking
