The Grants Specialist is responsible for researching local state Federal private and non-profit grant funding opportunities in support of various Jefferson County projects and programs Assist in the preparation of grant applications. Assist in the preparation of plans reports and supporting documentation. Assist in preparation and administration of grant budgets.

Description:

  • Perform research and administration in support of Federal state and local grants. Assist in the preparation of state and Federal grant applications. Assist in the preparation and administration of Federal state and local grant budgets which includes but is not limited to: preparation of briefing papers agenda memos manuals contracts quarterly reporting requirements purchase of service agreements memorandums of understanding compliance and obtaining approvals for execution.
  • Perform administrative duties and compile data for special projects or reports. Ensure completion by specified deadlines and in accordance with established goals and objectives.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties including assisting in the preparation of department and division budgets plans and reports. Represent the department at meetings.
  • Serve as liaison between county and community organizations service providers government agencies and citizens regarding grant programs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

In this position it will be necessary to demonstrate proficiency in the following:

  • Financial management and budgeting.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of general ledger and reporting.
  • Problem solving skills to navigate challenges during the grant implementation tracking purchasing and reporting.
  • Understanding of compliance of CFR 200 and reporting requirements to adhere to laws regulations and funding organization guidelines.

Starting Pay $29.41 Per Hour. Top Out Pay After Years of Service: $44.11.
