Job Summary
Job Title: OR Tech II (Operating Room Technician Tier 2)
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
Location: Kansas City MO
Shift: 312 Hour Night Shifts (Rotating Weekends Details discussed during interview)
Compensation: $25$35/hour (Up to max rate based on 17 years of experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15000
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced OR Tech II to join a high-performing surgical team at a leading acute care hospital in the Kansas City area. This role is ideal for a confident surgical technologist who can independently handle a wide range of surgical procedures and function as a first scrub in multiple specialty areas while contributing to a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the operating room by setting up surgical instruments supplies and advanced equipment to ensure smooth and safe procedures.
Assist with patient transport positioning prepping and draping while maintaining dignity privacy and safety.
Scrub in and actively support surgeons by passing instruments handling specimens and anticipating procedural needs.
Monitor sterile fields surgical equipment and patient status during procedures.
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards.
Perform efficient room turnover and support overall OR workflow.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons nurses anesthesia staff and surgical team members.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room Technician experience required.
Must meet OR Tech I qualifications and be competent to function as first scrub in at least three of the following four specialty areas:
Robotic Surgery
Total Joints
Neuro/Spine
Vascular Surgery
Graduate of an accredited Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT) program.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
BLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required upon hire.
