The Role:
As an Events & Visitor Services Associate youhave the opportunity toworkthroughoutdeCordovaSculpture Park & Museum including at addition to theseeverydayroles Associatesassistwith a variety of activitiesincludingsecuritycross departmentassistanceandspecial eventssupport.
Specificallyyoull:
Visitor Station
Efficientlyfacilitateinitialadmissionsales or relevant information to orient visitors to the property and set expectations fortheir visit. This may include butis not limitedto the following:
- Directions and basic layout of the property.
- Daily offerings such as programming and tours.
- Any special notices that mayimpactthevisitorexperience.
- Communicatearrivalof deliveries theappropriate staffmembers.
- Support Public and Private Events as needed based on informationprovided.
FrontDesk
Providevisitors with a warm welcome and offer guidance as neededincluding but notlimited to:
- Overview of museum and exhibition layout.
- Available tools and activities for families.
- Special dailyofferingssuch as programming and tours.
- Facilitate group admission payment and membership purchases.
- Manage external calls to the museum in a professional manner.
- Forward calls as needed toappropriate staffmembers.
- Address visitor questions directly whenever possible.
- Contact the person who can help whennotpossible.
- Provideinternal customer service todeCordovaand Trustees staff members.
Security
- Oversee guest interactions with exhibitions in the sculpture park and museum.
- Providea warm welcome to guests enteringmuseum building.
- Ensure museum policiesare followedand respectfully address errant behavior.
- Assistwith various activities throughout the museum campus as neededincluding butnot limited totoursevents and deliveries.
Events
- Review Event Orders to understand specific needs for each event.
- Placing Event-Related Signageandadditionalstanchions and/or signage.
- Occasional setup support.
- MaintainingdeCordovasecurity cleanliness and customer service standardsthroughout the duration of events.
- Assistwith various tasks to ensure a smooth event at the discretion of the eventmanager.
This is a part-time limited term nonexempt position working 25 hours per week reporting directly to the Visitor Services & Security Manager.
RequirementsWhat Youll Need:
Skills and Experience:
- Associatesdegree or equivalent work experience.
- 1yearsof experience working with events facingcustomerservice experience ispreferred.
- Flexible schedule including nights and events end at 11pmshiftsmay extend to 12am-1am on some weekends.
- Experience with AV systems ispreferred.
- Exercise good judgment and decision-making skills and the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize meeting deadlines isrequired.
- Effectiveand concisecommunication skills both in person and with written materials.
- Ability to respond to escalated situations and behaviors in a calm and rationalmanner andthink on your feet to solve problems andtroubleshootunder pressure.
- Excellent external and internal customer service skills.
- Experience workingincatering orfacilitiesmanagement is preferred.
- Mustbe personable and enjoy working with people using patience courtesy and kindness.
- Attention to detail is imperative.
- Ability to work independentlywhile following policies and directions.
Physical Requirements:
- Thisposition requires standing walkingreachingand bending for more than 80% of the day.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to drive Golf Cart.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Current authorization to work in the United States a candidate must have such authorization by his or her first day of employment.
- A valid drivers license as well as a satisfactory driving record as outlined in The Trustees driving policy.
