• Day Program Location: Bristol CT
• Shift: 9:00am to 3:00pm (No Weekends)

Are you someone who loves helping others enjoys being out and about and believes that every day should include a little fun Join our team as a Direct Support Professional in our vibrant day program for adults with disabilities!

• Provide direct care and supervision to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured day program setting.
• Support individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene mobility eating and personal care while promoting dignity and independence.
• Facilitate and participate in group and individual activitiesincluding arts and crafts games music exercise and life skillsthat encourage social interaction personal growth and confidence.
• Drive the company van to transport participants to community outings such as bowling parks museums and other recreational or educational events.
• Foster a safe respectful and joyful environment both within the program facility and during off-site activities.
• Assist individuals in setting and working toward personal goals that build life skills and meaningful relationships.
• Monitor and document participant progress behaviors and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with team members supervisors and families to ensure consistent high-quality care.
• Adhere to all program policies state regulations and ethical standards related to disability services.
• Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development to maintain certifications and enhance service delivery.

What Youll Need to be Successful:

• Must have a Valid RealID
• Must have a Valid Drivers License with clean driving record.
• A kind patient and upbeat personality.
• Comfortable working with adults with disabilities.

Physical Environmental & Emotional Demands:

• Youll be active throughout the day which may include walking standing bending lifting up to 25 lbs and helping individuals with mobility needs.
• You may assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene dressing or feeding depending on the needs of the individuals you support.
• Driving a company van is part of the job so youll need to be comfortable behind the wheel and able to safely transport participants to activities and appointments.
• The environment can be lively and fast-paced with group activities outings and occasional changes in routine.
• Youll work both indoors and outdoors including parks community centers and other public spaces. Weather conditions may vary.
• Emotionally the role requires patience empathy and a positive attitude. Youll be supporting individuals with varying abilities behaviors and communication styles.
• Some days may be challenging but the rewards of building relationships and making a difference are deeply fulfilling.
• Youll need to stay calm under pressure be flexible with unexpected changes and maintain a supportive and respectful approach at all times.
