Codeworks an LRS company is seeking an ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist for a contract this role you will support essential accessibility efforts and help advance inclusive digital experiences for one of our client partners.
The ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist supports the mission by assisting teams with digital accessibility compliance across websites web and mobile applications electronic forms documents and other digital content. This role ensures alignment with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other federal and state accessibility requirements.
The ADA Digital Accessibility Specialist develops updates and maintains accessibility testing processes and procedures for internal teams to improve consistency and efficiency. The role also provides guidance training and technical support to staff in creating accessible websites documents dashboards applications videos and other digital content.
The specialist will work with tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro WAVE Lighthouse Color Contrast Analyzer NVDA screen reader Microsoft accessibility checkers and manual keyboard navigation techniques to ensure that individuals using assistive technologies can access DOC programs services and activities.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of disability laws and standards including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
- Understanding of common digital accessibility barriers and approaches to identifying and remediating them.
- Working to advanced knowledge of HTML CSS and JavaScript.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to explain technical concepts and remediation steps in clear accessible language to individuals with varying technical backgrounds.
- Familiarity with internet and intranet application design development testing implementation and maintenance processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite database tools graphic design tools and layout tools.
- Ability to analyze issues and propose effective solutions.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support customer service needs in a professional inclusive and respectful manner.
The base range for this contract position is $35.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations.
