Job Summary

3 months contract with local authority

Summary

As a Childrens Social Worker in the Social/NGO/Health & Care industry you will play a crucial role in the well-being and development of children in need. This position involves working closely with children and families to provide support guidance and resources to ensure a safe and nurturing environment. Your work will be vital in advocating for childrens rights and helping them overcome challenges to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of children and families to determine their needs and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and families in crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as teachers healthcare providers and law enforcement to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Advocate for childrens rights and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions.
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss and review cases.
  • Educate families on available resources and support systems within the community.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of children and families adjusting care plans as necessary.


Requirements

Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with children in a social care setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the challenges faced by vulnerable children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
  • Empathy patience and resilience in dealing with challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications in social work or a related field.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of child protection and welfare.
